Working Principle: Six-Stage Cartoning Sequence

The vertical cartoning process follows a six-stage sequence that transforms flat carton blanks into sealed, finished packages:

  1. Carton Erecting: Flat carton blanks are retrieved from the magazine by a vacuum suction system or mechanical arm and erected into an open box shape. The erected carton is held in a vertical station with the top opening facing upward, ready to receive the product.
  2. Carton Placement: The open carton is positioned in the vertical holding station, where mechanical guides maintain its shape and alignment during the product insertion phase.
  3. Product Loading: Products are fed vertically from above into the waiting carton. This can be accomplished through manual feeding for semi-automatic configurations or through automated feeding systems such as vibratory feeders, conveyor belts, or pick-and-place robotic arms for fully automatic operation.
  4. Leaflet Insertion: A folded instruction leaflet or product information sheet is inserted into the carton alongside the product. The leaflet folding mechanism supports 1 to 4 fold configurations, and the fold count is adjustable through the touch screen without mechanical changeover.
  5. Carton Sealing: Once the product and leaflet are inside, the top and bottom flaps of the carton are folded inward. The flaps are then secured using one of two methods: mechanical tuck-in closure or hot-melt adhesive application, depending on the machine configuration and carton type. Both methods create a secure, tamper-evident closure suitable for pharmaceutical and retail packaging.
