Written by Nicole Hayes, Packaging Line Integration Engineer at Hangzhou Ruiyi Machinery Technology Co., Ltd. I have spent 16 years designing and commissioning cartoning and bottle unscrambling systems for pharmaceutical and food production lines, with over 120 successful installations across 40 countries.
The Ry-30WZH-C is an integrated horizontal cartoning machine paired with a bottle unscrambler, designed to automatically feed bottles into cartons along with inserted leaflets at speeds of 30 to 120 cartons per minute. It consolidates two critical packaging line functions, bottle orientation and carton filling, into a single coordinated system. The machine handles round and square bottles, automatically unscrambling bulk bottles, feeding them into the cartoning station, inserting folded leaflets, opening and forming cartons, pushing products into cartons, printing batch numbers, and sealing cartons through tuck-in or hot-melt adhesive closure.
The process begins with the bottle unscrambler, which receives bulk bottles in a hopper and automatically orients them upright on a conveyor. Bottles travel along the conveyor to the cartoning station. Simultaneously, pre-creased flat cartons are loaded into a vertical magazine and fed into the machine one at a time. A mechanical arm opens each carton and forms it into its correct three-dimensional shape. The leaflet feeder picks up a leaflet, folds it to the specified number of folds (1-4), and inserts it into the opened carton. The bottles are then pushed horizontally into the carton alongside the leaflet. A batch number printing system applies date codes or lot numbers to the carton exterior. Finally, the carton flaps are sealed using either tuck-in closure or hot-melt adhesive, or a combination of both. The sealed carton is discharged onto an output conveyor for case packing or palletizing.
This machine is primarily deployed in pharmaceutical production lines where bottled medications, vitamins, and supplements need to be cartoned with patient information leaflets. It handles both round and square bottles in PET and HDPE materials. Food industry applications include cartoning bottled sauces, condiments, and beverages. The integrated bottle unscrambler makes it particularly suitable for production lines where space constraints prohibit installing separate unscrambling and cartoning units. Contract packaging organizations benefit from the machine's format flexibility, which accommodates multiple bottle and carton sizes without extensive changeover time.
The machine is constructed from SUS304 stainless steel with optional SUS316 product contact parts. It complies with GMP-oriented pharmaceutical production requirements and supports CE certification. ISO9001 quality management system standards are followed in manufacturing. The machine's design facilitates validation procedures required in regulated pharmaceutical environments.
The Ry-30WZH-C integrates with upstream equipment including bottle unscramblers, electronic counting machines, desiccant inserters, and capping machines. Downstream equipment connections include labeling machines, induction sealing machines, shrink wrappers, and case packers. Signal interface protocols, conveyor heights, and layout configurations can be customized to match existing production line designs.
Each machine ships with operation manuals and installation videos. Online technical support, remote troubleshooting, and lifetime technical assistance are standard. Overseas engineer installation and operator training can be arranged. Standard delivery time is 7 to 15 working days for single machines and 20 to 30 working days for complete production lines.
