How Induction Sealing Works

Induction sealing creates a hermetic barrier without direct contact between the sealing head and the container. The process begins when a capped bottle, containing an aluminum foil liner under the cap, passes beneath the induction coil on the conveyor belt. The coil generates an oscillating electromagnetic field that penetrates the non-metallic cap and reaches the conductive aluminum foil.

Eddy currents induced in the foil generate rapid, localized heat. This heat melts the heat-sealable polymer film bonded to the underside of the foil liner. The molten polymer flows onto the lip of the container, and as the bottle exits the induction field, the polymer cools and solidifies, creating a permanent bond between the foil and the container rim.

The result is a tamper-evident, airtight seal that protects against moisture ingress, oxygen exposure, microbial contamination, and product leakage during transport and storage. The seal remains intact until the consumer peels the foil, providing visible evidence of prior opening.
